The "Día del Indio" was celebrated in Yaruca and we also participated, along with all the other schools from the Cuenca del Cangrejal. Our "India Bonita", Banesa, won 3rd place, which is fantastic!!

The NGO "Un Mundo" organized a cultural festival in the community of El Pital and we participated with a poster, where we posted the history of ABC Honduras, including photos and interviews with kids, parents, the teacher and the local ABC Team.

There was a Circus visiting La Ceiba and we took our kids on a trip to the show. Most of them had never been to a Circus before; they were very excited and we all had a fantastic time!

Three of our kids were playing in the soccer contest of the Cuenca with the team of Las Mangas, and they were of course the top scorers! We're very proud of them!

We celebrated Mother's day in our school. The kids prepared songs and poems for the mothers, there was music, small presents and a delicious lunch. Everyone enjoyed it a lot!

The director of the museum of butterflies in La Ceiba spent a night at our school to collect butterflies. See also in Photo Gallery, Nature.

For the beginning of the school year, we took the children to the health centre in Yaruca for a medical check-up. They received some medicine against parasites, fluoride, vitamins, and some of them had to get the tetanus vaccination.

The school year has started on February 1st, 2010. The kids are excited to start again and enjoy the newly painted school.
